Caribbean Word of the Week:
bashment n. (Eastern Caribbean, Jamaica) - An enjoyable party with plenty of food and music; [by extension] any entertainment or enjoyable sensual experience esp in young people's social life. It’s all about ‘bashment’. It’s the latest slang which has taken a firm place in the language of young adults in the Corporate Area. The party is ‘bashment’, and the sex is also more ‘bashment’… the slang is used in local terms to mean big ‘excitement’ or simply ‘big things a gwaan’.
